Description

Contest hosted by: Postpartum Support International
Company: Postpartum Support International
Website: www.postpartum.net

Voting is closed!

Postpartum Support International (PSI) joined with other perinatal mental health advocates as sponsors of this contest to create a universal symbol for Maternal Mental Health. We received many creative and thoughtful symbols from around the world. The contest review committee ranked their ten top choices, and are submitting them for a public vote.

Each individual votes just once. Please vote for your favorite image, not the artistic quality alone. Any of the symbols can be enhanced for clarity after the contest.

TO VIEW IMAGES: Click on "View Entries" up above, and the ten choices will be visible. You can scroll through, watch a slide show, or click on each to view more.

TO VOTE: Click on the symbol and it will pop up in a larger form. From there, click "Details" below the image, and you'll be able to vote from there. Vote for the image you think will best symbolize maternal mental health around the world. We know it will be hard to choose just one for your vote!

The purpose for a universal symbol is to help spread the word about Pregnancy and Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders, raise awareness and reduce stigma, and identify those who want to help mothers, fathers, and families during this difficult time. Having a universal symbol is one way to increase knowledge and move toward the goal of communication and connection.

The contest rules were to create a design that was simple but able to catch your eye, one that could be worn as jewelry or placed on printed material. Colors that have previously been designated as representative: Mental Health is emerald green and Maternal Mental Health is purple, but we invited designers to use any colors.

We will announce the symbol with the largest number of votes on May 3rd, 2014 here, and on the PSI website www.postpartum.net, Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/PostpartumSupportInternational and twitter https://twitter.com/PostpartumHelp

You do not need to download anything or receive additional emails to view the photos and vote. Just vote for your favorite and it will be recorded. Please do forward the link to others!
